Six Week High School Webinar on Blood

I am teaching an online webinar course about the physiology and pathophysiology of blood called:

"You won't faint at the sight of blood in this virtual class! We'll explore what blood is and does, how it is made, how it clots, and blood typing. We'll also look at how blood is tested in a medical laboratory, what the results are when a person is healthy and how it changes in illness. Each student will present their own research into a specific blood disorder of his or her choosing."

If you register before August 15th, the cost is an incredible $60; after that the cost is $75. There's an additional $20 lab course; one-time access to a 400x microscope is required.

The course starts Friday, September 18th and continues for six consecutive weeks. The live webinar portions are every Friday from 3:00 to 4:15 pm EDT. This is a great opportunity for high school homeschool. I am really excited about this course and the others offered by Homeschool Connections.

Science Saturday Challenge goes live!

I have thoroughly enjoyed the live webinars at Homeschool Connections, and many more have been scheduled, including mine! Science At Home: Static Electricity live webinar airs on Wednesday, May 13th at 8:30pm Eastern time. You can register here. I will be discussing homeschooling science as well as static electricity, and then demonstrating several experiments relating to the topic.

If you miss the live webinar I will post a link as the next Science Saturday Challenge so you can view it at any time.

I hope this effort will make homeschool science easier for those who are just a touch intimidated by the subject, or for those who want to break away from the textbooks and boxed curricula.

You can see all the upcoming webinars here.

Blessings,

Free Science and Math Webinar April 1st

Maureen Wittmann, author of For the Love of Literature that lists hundreds of living books by subject, is offering FREE webinars. And the next one, on April 1st, is about teaching math and science with living books.

The webinars is Bringing Joy to Your Homeschool Math and Science Lessons and are offered through Homeschool Connections Online. Space is limited so register in advance for this wonderful event.

All you need to participate in a webinar is a computer with speakers (or headphones.) You watch and listen to the speaker, and you can type in questions for her to answer live, all in your pajamas if you want! You can get an idea by viewing one of her past webinars, and see what wonderful suggestions she has.

Homeschool Connections Online offers free webinars, and it is starting to offer, for a modest tuition, classes for middle and high school students.
